Founded by Lara Boglione of Petersham Nurseries and Giovanni Mazzei of the historic Mazzei wine family, Trogolo is a deeply personal expression of Florence, brought to Notting Hill. Lara brings a sensitivity to seasonal cooking and expressive, lived-in spaces. Giovanni brings over five centuries and 27 generations of Tuscan winemaking – not just heritage, but a way of life.
Together, they have created something that goes beyond the idea of a typical Tuscan restaurant in London or Italian restaurant in Notting Hill – something more immersive, more instinctive, and more alive.
Trogolo begins with a simple idea, ‘gathering’. The name itself comes from the Italian word for “trough” – the place where people and animals come together to eat – and that instinct sits at the heart of everything. It’s not about formality or performance. It’s about sharing space, food, wine, and time in a way that feels natural, instinctive, and alive.
Wine is at the core of that experience. This is not a list shaped by suppliers or trends. It is a direct reflection of Giovanni’s world – a personal, evolving selection drawn from his family’s winemaking legacy and his ongoing search for producers doing something real.
